Bristol Drugs Project
Bristol Drugs Project provide free and confidential support to people who are looking for help with their own alcohol and drug use, and the people who care for and about them. Services include support groups, drop-ins, harm reduction, and a dedicated helpline. Specific and targeted support is available for children and young people, students, older people, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community. A specific service is available for recent drug and alcohol-related bereavements.
The Compassionate Friends – Bristol
The Compassionate Friends provide befriending, support and a helpline for bereaved parents, grandparents or siblings who have suffered the death of a child or children of any age and from any cause. Online and local support groups are also available.
Reengage (Bristol groups)
Reengage provide social opportunities for older adults (75+) who live alone anywhere in the UK, including telephone befriending and monthly tea parties.
Filwood Hope
Filwood Hope provides the local community of Knowle West with advice and support on benefit, debt, emplyoment concerns, and housing. Listening services and advice for those over 55 are also available.
Rethink Bristol Community Support Services
Rethink’s Bristol Community Support Services work directly to help City of Bristol based people with mental health issues make a positive difference in their lives. A placement within the service can last for up to six months, either working towards a specific goal or to build confidence and create meaningful connections within the community. Referrals through a GP or Secondary Mental Health Services.
Bristol Samaritans (116 123)
Samaritans provide free confidential emotional support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by phone, and also offer non-urgent support by email and post.
Shelter (Bristol services)
Shelter provide advice, information, support, and legal aid legal services to individuals who are experiencing issues with housing, homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
SMART Recovery
SMART Recovery promote choice in recovery from addiction through a national network of mutual aid support meetings.

SWEDA offer a range of services for people with eating disorders across Somerset and the surrounding areas, including counselling and support groups.
