Traditional Employee Assistance Programme services (EAPs) are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might impact their wellbeing and performance at work.
However, with national EAP counselling providers recently under the spotlight over confidentiality and ethical practice, it makes more sense to invest in a trusted local Mental Health charity. Not only do you have more direct accountability, you also have the option of face-to-face and on-site provision which makes for a more holistic, personalised service. Better still, you have the benefit of knowing that your investment not only supports your staff, it also contributes towards low-cost places for the wider community in which you work.
Our Workplace Counselling Service offers the following features:
- Qualified, BACP or UKCP-registered counsellors who have ‘grown up’ with us on placement and are known and trusted by our staff and clients. All counsellors receive mandatory clinical supervision.
- Holistic assessments which include matching clients with suitable counsellors where feasible e.g. based on preferred approach, race, sexuality, cultural, neurodivergent or gender identity.
- 12 sessions of counselling offered for issues ranging from work-related stress, to broader anxiety, stress, experiences of grief or loss and for people coping with important life transitions.
- Extensions available for unexpected issues or traumatic experiences which surface during counselling, with existing referral routes into further specialist mental health where needed.
- Clear confidentiality agreements and contracting, including cancellations, the limits to confidentiality and where safeguarding duties apply.
- Regular and efficient data reports including sessions booked/ attended/ invoices/ remaining.
- Opportunities to engage in further consultancy, training or reflective practice
- Opportunities to join fundraising campaigns promoting better mental health for all.
