Arnolfini are hosting a fascinating and empowering look at disability activism in our city on July 27th.
Presented by Untold Stories, Brigstow Institute & The Urban Word Collective, “Untold Stories: Disability Activism in Bristol” aims to bring people together to explore the histories, untold stories and different meanings of disability and activism in our city.
The event will include a screening of Sarah Barton’s documentary ‘Defiant Lives’, which tells the story of the disability rights movement in the United States, Britain and Australia. Then through poetry, talk and discussion they hope to uncover some of the barriers between the different communities and groups working for equality in our city.
Above all, they aim to offer a space to share stories and ideas about how we build on what we have learned, together. Booking required – find out more here.
