LGBTQ+ Art Therapy
Art therapy is a creative form of psychotherapy where art making with various materials and techniques is used for communication and self-expression.
Bristol Mind offers LGBTQ+ individuals a non-judgemental and confidential space within which they can explore their thoughts and feelings together with an art therapist, through creative processes of making art.
No previous art experience or being ‘good’ at art is necessary.
A-K Laine is a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist, member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). A-K works in an integrative and LGBTQ+ affirmative way, drawing on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. A-K has experience of working with young people, adults and older adults.
Costs and Availability
Art therapy sessions take place on Friday mornings/afternoons. Each session is an hour long. Initial assessment is £15 and subsequent sessions cost £35 each. This includes the cost of all materials, so there are no extra charges.
Please note that this is not part of our regular low-cost counselling service. There are no reduced fees for the Art Therapy sessions.
