Bristol Phoenix Choir Concert

We are delighted to announce that on Saturday 17 November the Bristol Phoenix Choir, with the Bristol Cathedral Consort, will be giving a ‘Sing for Joy!’ concert at St Mary Redcliffe Church and will be donating the proceeds to Bristol Mind.

The Bristol Phoenix Choir, founded in 1963, is a friendly choir of about 70 members with a wide range of ages and musical backgrounds.  The choir gives at least three concerts each year in a variety of venues in and around Bristol. Our recent repertoire has included established classics such as Handel’s Coronation Anthems, Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Te Deum, Mozart Requiem, CPE Bach Magnificatand Dvorak Mass in D.

The evening will feature Handel’s coronation anthem, ‘Let thy hand be strengthened’, Tavener’s ‘Song for Athene’ and Tippett’s ‘Spirituals’ from ‘A Child of our Time’.
